The mayor and council members shall be residents and qualified electors of the City of Hoisington, Kansas, and the wards from which they are elected. The city shall be divided into four wards, as numbered, described, and bounded in this article.

The first ward shall include all of that property included within the following boundary:
Beginning at a point at the centerline of the intersection of Cedar and 4th Streets; thence west to the centerline of Green and 4th Streets: thence north to the centerline of the intersection of 7th and Green Streets; thence east to the centerline of the intersection of Main and 7th Street; thence north to the centerline of the intersection of 9th and Main Streets; thence west to the centerline of Vine and 9th Streets; thence north to the centerline of the intersection of Cheyenne and Vine Streets; thence east to the city limit line on the east right-of-way of Susank Road; thence south to the city limit line on the north right-of-way of 9th Street; thence east along a line coterminous with the city limit line to the centerline of Cedar Street; thence south to the point of beginning.

The second ward shall include all of that property included within the following boundary:
Beginning at a point at the centerline of the intersection of Green and 6th Streets; thence west to the centerline of the intersection of Center and 6th Streets: thence south to the centerline of the intersection of Midway and Center Streets; thence west to the centerline of the intersection of Alexander and Midway Streets; thence south to the centerline of the intersection of 4th and Alexander Streets; thence west to the centerline of Monroe and 4th Streets; thence south to the centerline of the intersection of 2nd and Monroe Streets; thence west to the centerline of the intersection of 2nd and West Streets; thence north on a line coterminous with the western city limit line to the northern city limit line; thence east along a line coterminous with the northern city limit me to the centerline of Susank Road; thence south along a line coterminous with the city limit line to the centerline of Cheyenne Street and Susank Road; thence west to the centerline of the intersection of Vine and Cheyenne Streets; thence south to the centerline of the intersection of 9th and Vine Streets; thence east to the centerline of the intersection of 9th and Main Streets; thence south to the centerline of the intersection of 7th and Main Streets; thence west on 7th Street to the intersection of 7th and Green thence south to the point of beginning.

The third ward shall include all of that property included within the following boundary:
Beginning at a point on the southern city limit line and Main Street: thence westerly and northerly along a line conterminous with the city limit line to the centerline of 2nd and West Streets; thence east to the centerline of the intersection of 2nd and Monroe Streets; thence north to the centerline of the intersection of 4th and Monroe Streets; thence east to the centerline of Alexander and 4th Streets; thence north to the centerline of Midway and Alexander Streets; thence east to the centerline of Center and Midway Streets; thence north to the centerline of the intersection of Center and 6th Streets; thence east to the centerline of the intersection of Green and 6th Streets: thence south to the centerline of the intersection of Green and Railroad Streets; thence east to the centerline of the intersection of Main and Railroad Streets; thence south to the point of beginning.

The fourth ward shall include all of that property included within the following boundary:
Beginning at a point on the east city limit line abutting Cherry Street; thence southwesterly, southerly and westerly along a line conterminous with the city limit line to a point at the centerline of Main Street; thence north to the centerline of Railroad and Main Streets; thence west to the centerline of the intersection of Green and Railroad Streets; thence north to the centerline of the intersection of 4th and Green Streets; thence east to the centerline of Cedar and 4th Streets; thence north to the city limit line on the north right-of-way line of 9th Street; thence east along a line coterminous with the city limit line to the east city limit line; thence south to the paint of beginning.
